Instrumental musician influenced heavily by astrophysics, space, and science fiction. Inspiration stems from the universe and years of absorbing ideas and techniques from proficiently versatile musicians. I write and record all of my music from my home studio. My music can be defined as progressive metal with a blend of classical and fusion. Ideas for song concepts come from many sources, including movies, shows, science podcasts and a general interest in thought-provoking sources.

Tachyon
This is the first song on my new album Inversion which is now available on all platforms. It contains a balance of heavy rhythm, lead guitar, keyboard and transitions that caused thorough insomnia due to thinking about making everything flow correctly. The title presented it self to me in the form of watching “The Flash”, in one of the many theoretical physics induced conversations of the show. I had some ideas for the title, but it’s one of those instances that almost gives you chills because the universe unexpectedly handed you the perfect name For my fellow super nerds out there, I am aware that the shuttle Atlantis (or any shuttle/known craft) is/was not capable of FTL (faster than light) travel. Please don’t use this as an opportunity to “science shame” in the comments for my own song 😀 🔫 more

Entropy
This song is my first composition that was initially written with keyboard. Changing up one’s format for the writing process opens up new doors to songwriting that may otherwise be closed from the imagination. The flow of this song was quite difficult to figure out, and was definitely a case of the song naming itself. There are multiple time signatures, tempos, brief pauses and riffs being accompanied or interrupted by flowing synth lines. To fully absorb this song I implore you to listen all the way through with headphones or a good stereo system. Also, feel free to caption this picture of me emerging from what appears to be a tomb at the Luxor Temple in Egypt 😅more

Negative Matter
This song has been one of the most challenging compositions to both write and play correctly. I’ve made at least a dozen versions of it over the past year or so of writing and finally slapped it into submission 😅 It features one of my new favorite techniques and obsessions: the “tapped arpeggio”, inspired by Andy James and Angel Vivaldi. #album #albumrelease #solo #solomusician #guitar #bass #drums #keyboard #studio #recording #music #artist #metal #djent #strandberg #headless #korg #goheadless #multiscale #fannedfret #strandbergguitars more
