During the 2010s, Southern California based singer and songwriter James Bohardt emerged from the underground scene with dozens of independent albums alongside a variety of artists. Today he is simply known as “Bohardt.” Coming from humble beginnings, early on Bohardt used music as a means to express his emotional pain. Relentlessly creating, his resilience, passion, and inspiration shine through in his brilliant and ingenious songwriting. His vulnerable, introspective, and raw lyrics serve as a powerful backdrop to reflect on his experiences. His innovative take on the alt-pop genre is soulful, passionate, and invigorating. Bohardt cites Sam Smith and Patrick Strump (Fall Out Boy) as influences but his distinct sound, which infuses an amalgamation of genres appeals to fans of a multitude of different styles.

You Know Me Better
I was struggling a lot when I wrote this song. I hadn't created in months and I was feeling really beaten down. I was watching all these artists release music, do collaborations, and still receive traction during COVID. But it was one comment in particular that shook me. This comment made me feel so small. But instead of letting that thought eat me alive, It turned into "Who are you to say that to me?" and "You don't know anything about me." Hearing myself say this inspired me to jump on the piano and let my thoughts flow. This song is meant to be a message to anyone letting others tell them what they're worth. more
