I saw a news report the other day.
They were interviewing a Ukrainian mother who had recently escaped the war zone and had moved to London with her small girl.
The reporter asked her how the child was adjusting to life in London and she said that it was hard for her little girl.
She had told the girl that the war she heard all around them every night in the distance was the people in the next town celebrating. The bombs were the bass speakers at their party, and the missiles were fireworks.
Her little girl couldn't sleep in London.
"Where is all the music?" she would ask.
She wanted a celebration in this cold, lonely, new town.
I wonder about all the children who still find themselves in the middle of that particular party.
This song is about them.more
