Sacrifice My Soul
Hey everyone, first post on here! I have just left The BRIT School and this is my debut single, I wrote this after having a serious asthma attack that landed me in hospital for a week. The night I was discharged, I got home and the first thing I did was create and record the song you are listening to now. It has many meanings to me, like giving up smoking, a life with asthma but most importantly, how amazingly I was treated when I was in the hospital, how I was in a room full of strangers yet at the same time, felt so much love. This song is an appreciation for the wonderful NHS; however, I also wanted to write this to be felt universally, to capture that feeling when someone shows you love when you need it most, and so this tune is gratitude towards them. I really hope you enjoy. Lyrics: Sacrifice my soul Sacrifice my love Cos' one of these days, It’ll bound to be us. In a room full of strangers, You treated me like blood. You gave me light when the dark came (and) Air when the walls changed Turned my fear to trust And no one ever showed me Love, like you do And oh, when I cry I cry for you. I’m glad that I found what it was That was keeping me from Giving up all along So I’ll Sacrifice my soul Sacrifice my love Cos one of these days, It’ll bound to be us. I will sacrifice my soul, I will sacrifice my love, If it takes my breath away, Then I swear that I will reach through the flood. But it’s never enough Oh no, no I will never be able Will never be able to pay you Will never, will never be able to pay you Will never, will never be able to pay But you don’t need our pay Oh, you’re a selfless group And if I had it my way, I’d give it all to you I’d sacrifice my soul.more
