Heartbreak is a song about lose of someone very close to you, its about the thoughts of not being able to do things that you once had planned. The questions you will never know the answers too and the things you wish you said but now its too late. This is a very personal song to me and about my mum passing when I was younger, the guilt of not saying what I wanted to say and not being able to take her to places she would have loved to have gone. The heartbreak of this loss was so huge to me it really impacted my life and even to this day still affects me a lot. This is one of the ways I can express how I feel and I’m normally a closed book. I wrote this song in a time when I was down and questioning a lot of things. One of these questions at the time was "Do I Ever Cross Your Mind" to the people who used to bully me in school, who attacked me while I was in college and even the harsh environment I've found myself in while I was in the workplace. Over time this has left me mental scared from all of those experiences I've been through, I find that they can sometimes play over and over in my head. On this particular day while I was sat there, I thought “I wonder if what they did to me, and other's, if they regret what they did and if it plays on their mind too” and that’s when this song was born. The Jokes On You (Remix) is a totallly different take on the single version. This track is to do with the bullying I received when I was younger and how they picked in me and treated me. Now I’ve grown up I can see that I’ve made something of my life and happy while they are the ones now who need the help and full of regret from all the hate they spread. So now the joke is really on them for how they made everyone feel resulting in them being alone. more
