An Office With No Furniture
I am so very excited to finally share this song with you all. To me, it's memorable in so many different ways... from the melody to the lyrics, this song feels so incredibly raw and, to say the least, vulnerable. The name seems odd when you first look at it, but it is revealing of how the song even came to be. An empty office. At home. My mom decided to redo her office; she had a vision. However, I stood in the middle of the unfinished office and took a chance to admire the intricacies of what was left undone. In the middle of my looking-around, I was sparked by a surge of inspiration. I really don't know what it was. The room? The solemnity? The stillness of each tool lying on the floor?
I sat in the center of the room and my chest swelled with myriads of emotions. I felt intertwined and interconnected with my surroundings, and it was beautiful. So, as I do when I am overcome with feelings, I sang. I made a voice memo and the words fluttered out of me so clearly I thought I was recalling an old song. The lyrics, the melody, the feelings, and the doubt, it's all so real to me that my heart holds this song deeply.
I hope you like it as much as I do!more
