Sandshone is an American rock duo formed by long-time friends Evan Lacy and Max Midgett, who met in high school, bonding over a shared love of classic rock and psychedelia, particularly Pink Floyd. Initially a solo project by Evan in 2018, Sandshone became a full-fledged band in 2023 when Max joined. Evan, the principal songwriter, handles drums, bass, rhythm guitar, and vocals, while Max takes on lead guitar, blending their talents into a sound that fuses rock, blues, and folk influences. Heavily inspired by legends like The Beatles, Ozzy Osbourne-era Black Sabbath, Led Zeppelin, Tom Waits, Frank Zappa, and The Who, Sandshone’s evolving sound is both experimental and grounded. The duo has released two albums— Sandshone and Yesterday Is Here—alongside nine singles and two compilations, establishing their presence in the music scene. Their debut live performance on May 31, 2024, at Neighborhood Yoga in Boone, North Carolina, showcased their raw energy and ability to captivate audiences.
