I began playing guitar in 1969 of July when my Mom gifted me with enough money to buy my own guitar. At the time being young I had so many interesting things to me I would buy but a guitar was on the top of my list, he recalls, however it was the best decision ever to buy a guitar. Born in California in 1961, I escaped the birth defect I was born with that was to end my life or be mentally retarded for the rest of his life. Without much instruction and moving to a one horse town by the Canadian border; I had a guitar and a Mel Bay learn guitar beginners book. My audience was the cows, horses and sheep in our barn. The cows were the best they'd actually stand there and listen to you ! Growing up in a small town didn’t offer much until a friend of mine happened to be a drummer and another played guitar and bass. Which formed my first band at 14. I mostly play by ear which included the trumpet of which belted out the lonely bull without sheet music. I was able to read trumpet
